Overview
BAG is a point-of-sale and business platform for South African restaurants, shops, cafés and market traders. It brings the till, stock, staff, orders and reports into one product with one login, so there is nothing to reconcile between systems at the end of the day.
One location is free with no time limit, and growing businesses pay a flat monthly fee per location. BAG never takes a percentage of sales, and it is open about its limits: features still in development are labelled as not built yet.
What we built
- A touch-first till for counter screens and phones, with separate modes for shops and restaurants
- Restaurant floor plans, table states and bills settled across several payments
- Stock with barcodes, variants, counts, wastage and a cash-up with variance
- Staff roles and permissions, with PIN switching at the till
- Reports on the day's trading, and receipts printed or sent on WhatsApp
- Customer records and messaging alongside the till
